What To Do in Seattle, Washington (in 24 hours)

3 minU.S.A.

Only have 24 hours in Seattle? Check out my tips below for what to see and how to see it in one day!

City Pass

If you are traveling within the U.S.A or Toronto, check out CityPass. They offer a ticket that allows you discounted entry for tourist attractions in the biggest cities. We did the CityPass for Seattle and had a blast! They gift city passes every month to people for sharing their experiences. I submitted the video above, do you think they will choose me as January's winner?

Space Needle

Of course, you can't spend the day in Seattle without touring the iconic Space Needle. This tower was built for the 1962 Wold Fair and has been a US staple ever since. This tower can withstand winds of up to 200 mph and even has a rotating glass floor on its second level that rotates viewers for 360 views of the city. To be honest this rotating floor made me nauseous. But the top floor is still and perfect for taking in the sights. They even have photo booths setup all around the top floor for capturing fabulous shots of your loved ones and the city.

Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum

I learned all about the famous glass artist Dale Chihuly during my studies at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. So actually visiting the museum where his work is exhibited was such a full circle moment! This museum is located right next door to the Space Needle so it's perfect for visiting after you've seen the city from above. Once inside the museum you're immersed in his pieces, which all have their own inspiration and meanings. They have a section where you can touch some of the glass and listen to artist speak about his work. Plus there's an outside area which is quite lovely and features pieces that seamlessly blend in with nature. My only critique of this museum is that it's pretty small with only a few rooms to explore. But sometimes that's a nice break from the massive museums that are overwhelming to explore (like the Louvre in Paris LOL)! (@chihulygg)

Argosy Harbor Cruise

After those two sights we chose an Argosy Harbor Cruise as the last activity in our set of three excursions with the CityPass. We got so lucky because we had the perfect weather; not to chilly, sunny and bright! We got to sit on the top deck as we listened to funny narration from our tour guide. We even saw some sea lions and surf scoters (water birds, like ducks). Cedric got a fancy blue drink and we tried and failed to take many cute pictures with the wind! Haha. We got a couple good ones though that the cruise company like so much they featured them on their Instagram and Thread profiles! (@argosycruises)

Pike Place

We didn't do this with the CityPass but we did have some time left in the day after the cruise was over. So we walked from Pier 55 to the famous Pike Place market! We were so surprised to learn that you can get vegan clam chowder at Pike Place, click here for more vegan eats in Seattle. We were also surprised to learn that one of the famous activities to do at this market is to chew gum and leave it on the infamous "Gum Wall" (see below). Would you do this? Or would you just shop and eat? (@pikeplacepublicmarket)
